When surveying a property, it’s often easy to leap to the conclusion that a home with cavity walls offers good insulative performance. Well, not always. The above photo shows the danger of leaping to conclusions. This cavity wall from a 1920s property was exposed during refurbishment works and is evidently empty. Filling cavity walls, via cavity wall injection, is one of the easiest ways to improve the thermal performance of a home. What’s more, Red Fox thermal surveys, backed up by borescope inspections, will show where insulation is not present, or not properly installed, allowing the homeowner to address as necessary. #unfilledcavity #thermalsurvey
